Nazi brothels still facinate Paul Dacre’s Daily Mail

Sleeping with the enemy: How ‘horizontal collaborators’ in Paris brothels enjoyed a golden age entertaining Hitler’s troops
For most French 1940-45 was a period of ‘crushing humiliation,’ but for others they were the ‘erotic years,’ reports the Daily Mail’s Peter Allen. It was a period of ‘horizontal collaboration’ during which the brothels of Paris flourished.

‘Most girls were so enamoured with the Aryan invaders that they went to great lengths to make them feel at home,’ the tabloid explains, perhaps recalling it’s own support for Hitler in the run-up to the Second World War.

The women, claims Paul Dacre’s organ, preferred Nazi occupiers to their own countrymen. The image of a high class brothel invites Daily Mail readers to contemplate what might have been.
